Breaking her own school record by more than 25 seconds, Brown County High School senior Jenny Kulow finished 10th in the IHSAA state cross country meet last Saturday, October 29.
Her finish in the top 25 earned Kulow All-State honors from the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches, and for finishing in the top 15, she earned a place on the championship podium and a medallion from the IHSAA.
Kulow entered the event ranked 22nd in the state by IndianaRunner.com and came away with several honors, including the coveted Mental Attitude Award, given annually to a senior “who best demonstrates excellence in the areas of mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability,” according to a release from the IHSAA.
Kulow's high school cross country career isn't quite over, however. As the second-highest finishing senior in the state meet, she will represent the state as one of 10 Indiana All-Stars who will compete in the Mideast Cross Country Championships at Kettering, Ohio.
