PORTSMOUTH — Wendy Radwan, who works in the Portsmouth office of Fred C. Church Insurance, has earned the official designation of accredited adviser in insurance.
The designation indicates an in-depth understanding of insurance coverages, marketing concepts, selling techniques and agency and sales management.
The company is headquartered in Lowell, Mass., with offices in Andover, Chelmsford, Dracut, Haverhill, Littleton, Methuen, Tewksbury and Westford, Mass., as well as Portsmouth and Plaistow.

PORTSMOUTH — Lisa L. Dale, certified financial planner and senior financial adviser, and Elizabeth Sampson, senior financial planner, both of Waddell & Reed, have been named recipients of the firm's Crest Award, a top honor for its financial advisers.
Presented annually, the Crest Awards are bestowed to the firm's most productive financial advisers based on an analysis of investment, insurance and financial planning sales generated by the advisor.
Dale and Sampson will be honored at a conference in Beijing, China, in June. It is the eighth time Dale has earned the honor, and the first time for Sampson.
Sampson earned a bachelor's degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., and her master's degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Kenneth C. Knowles, a site development project manager from Exeter, received his BSCE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Mass., in 1998 and has been working in the civil engineering field for the past 10 years.
Knowles is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and state of Maine. He is currently a member of the Exeter Planning Board.

EPPING — EnviroVantage Inc., a leader in the safe handling of hazardous materials at building and historic reconstruction sites, announced recently that Scott Knightly, the firm's founder and president, has been appointed to the board of directors of the National Demolition Association.
EnviroVantage rids demolition sites of hazardous materials found in older buildings, such as lead paint and asbestos. The firm, which Knightly founded in 1986, also performs mold remediation and industrial and commercial cleanup, as well as historical building restorations.
EXETER — Seacoast Hospice announced that Dr. Peter Dicks has been named medical director of Seacoast Hospice, a New Hampshire-based provider of end-of-life care.
Earlier this year, he became certified in hospice and palliative medicine, one of only 2,800 nationwide, by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and a certified medical director.
Dicks will oversee medical services for Seacoast Hospice and will continue to work closely with local physicians and their patients who have advanced or terminal illness.
He and fellow Seacoast Hospice physicians Dr. Deborah Turiano and Dr. Jennifer Stebbings provide education to health care professionals as well as home visits to hospice patients.
The Seacoast Hospice team of physicians, nurses, home health aides, social workers, bereavement coordinators, and volunteers collaborate to provide extensive services for patients in their own homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and at the new Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. The team partners with a patients' physicians at the earliest indication of terminal illness to provide emotional support, pain control, and peace of mind.

CONCORD — Three of the state's electric utility companies and the New Hampshire Office of Energy and Planning are recognized by Wilson Educational Services Inc. for their outstanding support of energy education for New Hampshire schools.
Since 1987, more than 165 energy education programs have been provided with the support of Public Service of New Hampshire, New Hampshire Electric Coop, Unitil and the New Hampshire Office of Energy and Planning.
The programs have directly involved approximately 4,000 students and 200 teachers, who learned to apply academic skills to real energy challenges in their schools.
As a result of the program, students have identified energy conservation measures that could save their schools approximately $1 million in annual energy costs. The total savings potential of all the programs to date is approximately $14 million.
The awards were presented on April 18 by Carol Wilson, president of Wilson Educational Services Inc., at a meeting of the New Hampshire Science Teachers Association.
