A study from Sainsbury's Bank has highlighted that one-fourth of parents have not always made sure that their children are securely fastened into a child car seat on journeys.

In addition, more than 460,000 people have potentially had to claim on their car insurance after being involved in accidents during the school run while a child was in the car.

The highest proportion of drivers having an accident during the school run with children inside the vehicle was seen in the south of England, while Scotland was shown to have the smallest number followed by London.
