CHENNAI: The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation has filed two more charge sheets in the bogus insurance claims cases.

In one charge sheet, S. Kulandaivelu, the then Inspector, Kottampatti police station, S. Kannan of Madurai, T. Paramasivam of Sivaganga district and K. Aruna of Madurai have been cited as accused. Sasikala of Chennai figures as an approver.

The charge sheet has been filed for offences under Sections 120-B, 420, 511, 465, 468 and 471 IPC and Sections 13 (2) and 13 (1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

It states that in April 2001, a false case was registered to show that Shankar died in an accident involving two cars within the Kottampatti police station limits. The signature of the `complainant' was forged.

Paramasivam played the role of a car driver and pleaded guilty before court. Using the false and forged records, a motor accidents claim was preferred.

The case is that with a view to getting a false insurance claim, Gunasekaran gave a statement that he sustained injuries after he fell while riding pillion on a two-wheeler driven by Tamil Selvam in a rash manner.

Nagooran registered an FIR against Tamil Selvam, who pleaded guilty. Illayaperumal closed a complaint given by the insurance company with regard to the claim.
